Recurrent Training & Flight Review

Be PROFICIENT, not just CURRENT!

To act as Pilot in Command (PIC), a private pilot must complete a flight review with a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)at least once every 24 calendar months.

  • The flight review consists of a minimum of 1 hour of ground instruction (covering regulations and operating procedures) and 1 hour of flight training with a qualified instructor.

Note: Completing a new FAA checkride (for a rating or certificate) or finishing one or more phases of the FAA WINGS Pilot Proficiency Program also satisfies the flight review requirement.
